Description
The starling is one of the first birds to arrive in spring and one of the first to start singing. Strangely, its song can vary from imitations of other birds to sounds which resemble the grunts of pigs grunts or even the ringing of a phone. Many Estonians like to set up wooden bird houses on the trees of their gardens which starlings often use as nice places to nest. However, starlings often become somewhat less welcome in Estonian gardens when cherry trees and berry bushes are in fruit as they like to eat them too!
