Description
As flax has been grown in Estonia for over 3,000 years, it is clear that our ancestors have been weaving and wearing clothes made from linen for thousands of years. The cultivation of flax expanded greatly during the development of the textile industry and commercial shipping in the middle of 19th Century. Thanks to the money that they made from selling flax, many farmers in southern Estonia were able to buy their own land. During the War of Independence in 1919 flax was even used to buy ammunition. Flax seeds can also be used to produce oil and flour. Today, flax cakses are fed to chickents to help enrich their eggs with Omega-3.
Our postcards are handmade from 100% recycled paper and printed with our letterpress on both sides.
